Teaching Artist

As a kid dance gave me the ability to communicate and express myself and my ideas when my words could not. Now as a Performing & Teaching Artist, I love sharing tap dance through performances, assemblies, residencies, and workshops.

WHERE’S YOUR RHYTHM?

Students enjoy learning ways to creating their own rhythm with tap dance. With basic tap steps, students explore the elements of dance and music. Team building and collaboration are important principles within the residency. As a group, students will showcase their own choreography in a culminating performance at their school.

READING & RHYTHM

Did you know it’s possible to connect words and beats? Through Reading & Rhythm, an Arts Integration Residency, students learn to embody words through the movement of their feet. Tap dance has the ability to communicate and express meaning by creating beats and rhythms. When basic tap steps are integrated into the classroom, students can explore ways to create physical and personal connections to what they’re reading.

TAP MATHEMATICIAN

Counting and sequences are some of the fun attributes of tap dance. The Tap Mathematician residency and workshop creates a fun way of learning addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Often students have difficulty understanding these concepts. This program is design to make learning math fun by using tap steps.
